Privacy Policy

Kanji Pass · Effective October 6, 2026

Kanji Pass ("the app") is operated by INNOCATION CO., LTD. ("we"). This policy explains what information the app handles.

Summary

The app has no accounts and we run no servers that receive your learning data. Your study progress stays on your device. Two third-party services are used: RevenueCat for subscriptions, and Google AdMob for ads shown to users without a subscription.

Information stored on your device

Your learning progress, review schedule, saved cards, writing practice results and settings are stored locally in the app. We cannot see them. They may be included in your device's own iCloud or Google backup, under Apple's or Google's terms.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card details. To confirm that a subscription is active we use RevenueCat, which receives a randomly generated app user ID, purchase and renewal history, product identifiers, country/storefront, device model, operating system and app version. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Advertising

If you do not have a subscription, the app shows banner ads from Google AdMob on the catalog screen and at the end of a study session. Subscribers see no ads and the advertising SDK is not started for them. AdMob may collect the device advertising identifier, IP address (used to estimate general location), device information, and ad interaction and diagnostic data, and may use them for personalised or non-personalised advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) you are asked for consent before any ad is requested and can change your choice from Profile → Privacy choices. On iOS the app does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps, so the advertising identifier is not available to ad partners. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

What we do not do

We do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone or precise location. We do not use analytics SDKs, and we do not sell personal information.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Retention and deletion

Deleting the app deletes all locally stored learning data. Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as required for billing and legal purposes. To request deletion of the RevenueCat record associated with your installation, or to exercise rights you have under laws such as GDPR or CCPA, contact us at the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
